RubberBall - Chris Matthews
I've been lamenting over this for the past few days.
Chris Matthews of Hardball on MSDNC was on the show "Morning Joe" on the aforementioned channel this past Thursday. The hosts were discussing how Rahm "Wrong" Emanuel was dancing around the issue of accepting the position of Chief of Staff for the Obama administration right in front of cameras. The host's believed he should have made this decision months ago. Here's the dialogue that ensued:
CHRIS MATTHEWS: Yeah, well, you know what? I want to do everything I can to make this thing work, this new presidency work, and I think that --
JOE SCARBOROUGH: Is that your job? You just talked about being a journalist!
MATTHEWS: Yeah, it is my job. My job is to help this country.
SCARBOROUGH: Your job is the make this presidency work?
MATTHEWS: To make this work successfully. This country needs a successful presidency.
People. Come on People. Don't watch this goofball. This man is SO in the tank for Obama that he won't even be a watchdog for the presidency anymore. It is now okay for the president to do whatever he wants without the watchful eye of the press keeping him in line. This man is setting up the stage for a blame-free presidency. I can guarantee you that everything. . .and I mean Everything, will be continued to be blamed on the Bush Administration (who kept the war on terror thousands of miles away from the homeland for seven successful years). I wish to ask Matthews a question.
WHERE. . .oh WHERE were YOU when Bush needed your HELP in a successful presidency? Did you make the conceited effort to protect BUSH when it was important for the nation to have a successful presidency? Didn't you mean to say "a Successful Liberal Presidency?" You disgust me Chris Matthews. What a sorry sack of crap you have become. Thank GOD we have other news outlets other than the 24 hour Obama channel so we can get away from the mindless Obama crap that is uttered out of the mouths of millions of misguided Americans.

So my girlfriend pointed this out to me after listening to some morning talk show in Chicago.
Aparently the Illinois Lottery Evening Pick 3 Lotto numbers for the day after the election were "666."

I know. I know. We should all be glad that America came out in record numbers to elect the first American Black President of the United States of America. We should all support our newly elected leader of the free world. Judging by the campaign he ran, nothing could be worse than George W. Bush, but I can assure you that if things do get worse; the liberals will still blame it on Bush and never take responsibility for what is to come.
I know we should allow this man a period of honeymooning with his wife, and let him be for a few weeks. . .but he simply doesn't want that. He already held a meeting of his "economic advisers" in Chicago this morning, and then held a useless press conference hours later. I'm tired of hearing him campaign, and that's all the meeting was. Talking points, and what kind of dog do we bring to the White House. Seriously. . .a reporter wasted their question on the non-existent-dog. THE DOG! He even went into great detail about the selection process, adoption, allergies, purebred, mutts. He even called himself a Mutt (couldn't have put it better myself). He also took a cheap shot at Nancy Reagan, but who's listening?
I want you to take a look at this website he put up over the week. It's a web page for the "Office of the President Elect Barack Obama." Let me also point out that no president-elect in the history of the United States has EVER set up his own governmental agency even BEFORE he takes office. Now. . .I was listening to the radio this morning, and one of my favorite hosts spoke in great detail about this. Check out this excerpt from the "America Serves" page.
- "The Obama Administration will call on Americans to serve in order to meet the nation’s challenges. President-Elect Obama will expand national service programs like AmeriCorps and Peace Corps and will create a new Classroom Corps to help teachers in underserved [sic] schools, as well as a new Health Corps, Clean Energy Corps, and Veterans Corps. Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year. Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start."
If you read other parts of the page, sounds like he wants to give college students a $4000 tax credit in exchange for the community service. . .which might help out some willing college students, but it sounds as if he wants to MANDATE these programs in public schools for children. I'm sorry, but the local court system in my county hands out community service to misdemeanor and felon criminals. And 50 hours?! I know people with DUI's that only had to do 40 hours! My question to Barack is, "What will be the penalty for not letting children participate in these programs?" Everyone I've spoken to about this today responded to me with something along the lines of, "F**k that!" Can you imagine the uproar of the people for mandatory community service? Thanks to Mike Church for catching this one.
